Topline singer-songwriter Tatu hails from Indianapolis, Indiana, where she comes from a strong musical background. Thanks to the influence of her artistic forebears, including jazz player relatives (The Hamptons) and her multitalented playwright and dance choreographer mother, it’s no wonder that Tatu has such creative flair. Her wonderfully eclectic sound is hard to pin down to one singular comparison, but this sterling songwriter is heavily influenced by Missy Elliot, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder, among others.

Tatu has worked on a multitude of songwriting projects ranging from her own work to contributing to the work of renowned artists.  She has three cuts on the current Eve record, Liplock ("Never Gone", "Zero Below", and "Keep Me From You"). Her song, “Dream Away”, was recorded by up-and-coming UK boy group, The Vamps. Some of Tatu’s notable collaborators include Phat Boyz (Ne-Yo & John Legend), Espionage, Phil Bentley, Shane Stevens, Tracklacers, Pitchshifters, and C-Ray (Stellar/Stargate).  Tatu has also written songs for the likes of Eve, Dawn Richardson (Danity Kane), Jesse Cambell from The Voice, Chrisette Michelle, and many more.  Most recently, the new summer single “Colors” from DJ Headhunterz features Tatu’s stellar vocals and songwriting on Ultra Records/Sony Music.

Since diving into music at the young age of 14, Tatiauna Matthews has come a long way to become the talented Tatu today.
